Biography
Born and raised in the Midwest, I moved to El Paso in 2012 because I was drawn to the rich and unique culture, history, and natural beauty of the U.S./Mexico border region. I have practiced exclusively in immigration law for over 10 years and am deeply committed to defending the human rights of others. I believe that all people have the right to seek happiness, security, and economic advancement regardless of where they were born. I represent clients from all over the United States and abroad.
Prior to founding Frontera Immigration Law, I worked as a Supervising Attorney at the National Immigrant Justice Center, a large non-profit legal service and advocacy organization based in Chicago, and most recently at a high-volume immigration law practice in El Paso, Texas. In these positions, I have had the opportunity to represent hundreds of individuals and families in all areas of family, non-immigrant, and protection-based immigration such as asylum and benefits for survivors of domestic violence and other crimes.
I received my Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, and I have been licensed by the Illinois Bar since 2006. I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Federal Bar Association, the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, and the El Paso Bar Association. In addition, I currently serve as President of the Board of Directors of the Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center in El Paso, Texas.
