Biography
Michael is an attorney and certified mediator who practices farm and ranch law, probate, oil and gas and criminal law in and around La Grange, Fayette County, Texas, with his main offices in Flatonia.
Licensed since 1976, graduating from the University of Texas Law School, Michael practiced law in Houston, Texas, until becoming regional counsel for Kellogg Brown & Root in Baghdad, Iraq, where he practiced corporate, compliance and procurement law. He has spoken and presented at numerous business, family law, technology and cyber seminars around the country, having been past Vice Chair of the College of the State Bar, past Chair of the Computer and Technology Section of the State Bar of Texas, past Chair of the International Law Section of the Houston Bar Association and past Chair of the Corporate Counsel Section of the Houston Bar Association.
Michael retired from the US Naval Reserve, as a LCDR (Intelligence) and as a NCIS agent in 2003. He has previously served as a municipal judge in Galveston County and taught law at the University of Houston and Houston Community College.
Michael is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of Texas, Supreme Court of the United States, U.S. Court of International Trade, U.S. Court of Appeals-Fifth Circuit and U.S. District Court-Southern District of Texas.
He lives in La Grange, Texas on a small ranch with his family. He loves being a part of the local community, is an avid nature photographer and is always willing to lend a helping hand.
