Michael Edgell is a director of the law firm Schmitt Schneck Smyth Casey & Even. He concentrates his practice in the area of labor and employment law with an emphasis on counseling businesses with regard to: 1) policies and procedures; 2) defending against allegations of discrimination and harassment; 3) employment agreements; 4) restrictive covenants; 5) EEOC investigations; 6) how to avoid claims of discrimination and harassment.

Michael also practices adoption law, including private placement adoptions, contested adoptions, interstate adoptions, termination of parental rights and private dependency. Michael represents birth parents, adoptive parents and agencies.
