Biography
I practice in the areas of business litigation, products liability, and complex torts. Although I have handled all types of civil matters, my practice emphasizes the defense of manufacturers, retail businesses, and recreation providers in product liability and premises matters, with a focus on cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. I have also defended clients in several business litigation matters involving claims of unfair competition, false advertising, and fraud.
I have handled cases at both the trial and appellate levels, including first chair trial experience and oral arguments before the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. I pride myself on my ability to successfully resolve matters for my clients in a manner that suits their needs, whether it be through a trial or some form of alternative dispute resolution.
In addition to my significant litigation experience, I work closely with clients on risk management and business operations issues to prevent litigation, including the use of social media.
I am licensed to practice in all courts of California and Nevada. I am also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
In 2010, I recevied the Duane Morris Pro Bono Award, which recognizes commitment to pro bono service and honors those who work to achieve equal access to justice.
I am an active member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), where I currently serve as Vice-Chair of the Recreational Products Subcommittee and as Steering Committee Member of the Products Liability Committee. I previously held several Steering Committee positions for the Young Lawyers Committee.
I was elected to the Board of Directors for the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys in 2013.
On a personal level, I have been an avid skier for over 30 years and much of my practice has been devoted to assisting and defending clients involved in outdoor recreation. I also enjoy all water sports, mountain biking, and hiking.
