Michael Weiss  has years of experience representing clients in high-stakes litigation.  As a partner at Carroll & Weiss, Mike has a diverse practice, representing a variety of clients in product liability and other cases, including large manufacturers and retailers, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals, and helps companies navigate federal and state regulations with an eye on how compliance can impact legal liability.  In recent years, Mike has taken a leadership role in defending members of the window covering industry in lawsuits around the country alleging strangulation on window blinds cords, including defending several clients in a purported nationwide class action in Illinois (and winning dismissal of a number of those clients).  He has experience both in and out of the courtroom:  in 2010, he served on the trial team of a high-profile pharmaceutical birth defect case in which the court entered a verdict for his client before the close of evidence.

A former litigator with King & Spalding’s nationally-recognized Tort Litigation and Environmental Law Practice Group, Mike spent eight years defending Fortune 100 corporations in high-exposure product liability actions, including top automotive, pharmaceutical, and medical device manufacturers.  He also helped a Georgia family fight the state’s efforts to build a highway across their property, guided abused women and children in obtaining asylum in the United States, and helped free a wrongly-convicted man from prison after 17 years behind bars.  Mike has practiced in courts in Georgia, Alabama, New Jersey, Alaska, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, New York, South Carolina, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Indiana, Ohio, Texas, California, and Illinois and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
