Michael's practice is focused on his passion - standing up for everyday people against those who refuse to take responsibility for their wrongful conduct.  He represents clients in a wide variety of complex cases, including general civil litigation, personal injury, medical and other professional malpractice, product and consumer claims, insurance disputes, business litigation, and employment-related disputes.

 

Michael has experience with all stages of litigation and has handled matters before state and federal administrative agencies and has tried cases, argued appeals, and successfully handled mediations in both state and federal court.

 

Michael is recognized as an "Ohio Rising Star" and frequently writes and lectures on timely legal issues.  He also holds key positions with a number of bar association committees, is associated with community legal aid programs, and regularly volunteers his time with community-based organizations. Michael serves as a representative-at-large for 2013-2015 Board of Trustees, Ohio Association for Justice; board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Summit County; member of the Certified Grievance Subcommittee of the Akron Bar Association; member of the Ohio Association for Justice's legislative and subrogation committees; member of the Ohio State Bar Association's jury instructions committee; and mentor to new lawyers through the Ohio Supreme Court's Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program.  He is also a 2013 graduate of the Ohio State Bar Association's Leadership Academy and is active with the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice, as well. 

 

Michael is licensed to practice law in all Ohio State courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.  He attended Kent State University, where he earned his B.A. degree in journalism with a minor in political science.  Michael later attended the University of Akron School of Law, where he served as assistant editor of the Akron Law Review, was a member of its Jessup International Moot Court competition team, and served as executive editor of its Journal of Technology Transfer (now the Akron Journal of Intellectual Property).
