Biography
Misty Farris manages the firm’s Law and Motions Department, which briefs substantive trial court motions and appellate matters in all of the law firm’s practice areas in state and federal courts across the country.
Misty’s practice is focused on public client litigation and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. She works on behalf of government entities in litigation targeting alleged deceptive marketing and overprescribing of highly addictive opioid painkillers.
Misty's previous experience was in toxic torts, with an emphasis in workplace injuries. She has worked on motions, responses, jury charges, and appellate briefs on behalf of thousands of toxic tort clients over the course of her career.
In 2006, Misty was one of a team of attorneys named Trial Lawyers of the Year by Public Justice for work on behalf of a community in Tucson, Arizona whose groundwater was contaminated with TCE.
Misty represented the organization Public Justice as Amicus Curiae in Norfolk & Western Railway Co. v. Ayers and Dow Chemical Company v. Stephenson before the United States Supreme Court and has also represented the American Association for Justice and the Texas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (Tex-ABOTA) as Amicus Curiae. She served for several years as a member of the Amicus Commitee of the American Association for Justice.

After college, Misty worked in publishing and in social service settings before entering law school to find a way that she could help people, use her strengths in research and writing, and be challenged. She earned her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. While continuing to practice law, Misty also earned a Master’s of Divinity from Southern Methodist University.
