Biography
Neil C. Stauffer began his legal career as a Judge Advocate with the U.S. Army in 2009. He served on active duty for eight years, specializing in criminal law and litigation. Neil's first active duty assignment was at Fort Bragg, NC where he served as a trial counsel (prosecutor) and later as a trial defense counsel with Fort Bragg's famed Trial Defense Service (TDS), one of the largest and busiest TDS offices in the world. While at Fort Bragg, due to his extensive military justice experience, Neil earned the additional skill identifier (ASI) of Senior Military Justice Practitioner. In 2014, Neil PCS'd to Fort Campbell, KY where he served as the senior trial counsel (senior prosecutor) for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). There, Neil led and trained a team of prosecutors at one of the busiest criminal law offices in the Army and handled the Division's most complex, challenging, and high-profile cases. Having worked on both sides of the courtroom aisle, Neil has gained an enormous amount of litigation and trial advocacy experience. He knows how prosecutors think, and he knows how the system works to stack the deck against accused servicemembers. When the prosecution pulls out all the stops and brings all the resources of the U.S. government against you as an accused, you want someone with the active duty, high op-tempo experience to fight on your behalf. Neil Stauffer puts his vast military justice and criminal law knowledge and experience to work for his clients to zealously and aggressively defend them in every case.
