Biography
Nick's legal practice focuses on real estate, including both litigation and transactions.
Nick has successfully litigated a range of real estate disputes, namely involving eminent domain and property taxation. Of significant note, Nick served as an attorney for Milwaukee County and helped to achieve a successful outcome in an eminent domain dispute between the Milwaukee County Zoo and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Nick also briefed and presented the lead oral argument in front of the Wisconsin Supreme Court in Metropolitan Associates v. City of Milwaukee. Nick’s experience in real estate law is not limited to trial and appellate courtrooms and includes successfully closing the sale of the former Dairyland Greyhound Park property in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Nick earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Marquette University.
Prior to law school, Nick was accepted into the White House internship program and promoted to a staff position in the Office of Legislative Affairs where he worked during the 2008 financial crisis and the passage of TARP.
In law school, Nick earned a position on the Marquette Law Review, served in the Attorney General's office at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, worked as a summer associate at the national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson and for Governor Scott Walker’s chief legal counsel. Nick was also elected by his peers as president of the Marquette Law School Federalist Society.
