Over the years Phil has been named a Washington Super Lawyer, placed in the top 100 trial lawyers in the State of Washington, nationally nominated for Trial Lawyer of the Year, and received the Washington State Association for Justice President's Award for his work. He is a recipient of Martindale-Hubbell's highest (AV) rating for ethics and ability.  

He is experienced in litigating plaintiff personal injury state and federal cases in Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Minnesota, California and Washington. His cases in the product liability field have involved manufacturers in China, FInland, Germany, Taiwan, and the United States.

He limits his work to only representing seriously injured victims of defective products, motor vehicle accidents, medical negligence, maritime negligence, insurance bad faith, and other neglient acts.  He has been fortunate to represent many union workers injured in the longshore, railroad and maritime industries. 

In the Washington State Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals he represented injured victims in cases creating new law permitting children to recover when parents are seriously injured damaging the parent-child relationship, holding insurance companies accountable to their customers, and protecting railroad workers in employer provided housing.

For many years he participated and chaired the Washington State Bar Association's Court Rules and Procedures Committee formulating many of the rules used in civil litigation and personal injury actions.

He is driven by the belief that each case must be done right because for his client there is no second chance.
