Preston is originally from Salem, New Jersey, but he grew up in Clemson, South Carolina. He attended and graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s in Political Science. He then went on to receive his law degree from Elon University School of Law.

Many people influenced Preston’s desire to become an attorney, but recent events in his life were the most poignant. He recalls witnessing the Black Lives Matter protests in Charlotte, NC back in 2015. He also witnessed a young man die at the hands of gang violence. These experiences weighed on him heavily and made him desire to live a life of purpose. So he left his previous career behind and pursued a career in law.

His background as a political scientist gives Preston a unique understanding of the inherent power dynamics between the criminal justice system and the people upon who it is enforced. Thus, he wishes to help those who run aground within the system to protect their individual rights as Americans.
