Biography
At Rachel Ackley Law, we specialize in criminal defense at both the trial and appellate levels. We know that charges do not define the person. Life is not black and white and neither is your court case. Whether you're facing a simple traffic ticket or a serious violent felony charge, we will zealously defend you and your rights at every turn. When you hire Rachel, you will have access to legal counsel all day every day. Your calls and questions will be answered promptly and your case handled discreetly.
Rachel worked as a prosecutor for nearly a decade at the Cobb County and Douglas County district attorney's offices before switching to defense work and starting her own practice. During her time as a prosecutor, Rachel handled thousands of felony criminal cases - ranging from drugs to human trafficking to murder - and spent more than 5,000 hours in the courtroom arguing a wide range of motions, pleas, proceedings, and trials.
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Alabama and her Juris Doctor degree from University of Georgia School of Law, where she studied criminal law and trial advocacy. She was on both the Mock Trial and Moot Court boards, successfully competed in many advocacy competitions, and even tried cases while still in school. After graduation, Rachel clerked with a Cobb County State Court judge before joining the Douglas County District Attorney's Office, where she advanced to the position of senior assistant district attorney.
