I am a graduate of UC Berkeley, where I received my bachelor's (B.A.) degree, and of UCLA, where I received my juris doctor (J.D.) degree.  I am a versatile and creative attorney with a successful track record in estate planning, consumer bankruptcy and business formation and administration.  My Berkeley, California, law firm--Duran, Ochoa & Icaza, LLP--received the Alameda County Bar Association's prestigious Firm Distinguished Service Award.  In addition to my law firm experience, I have worked as in house counsel for a start-up biodiesel company, for the California Department of Water Resources and Board of Equalization, and represented peace officers, public employees, unions and union members.  At Cal I majored in English, but I speak Spanish fluently and am an active member of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  I am also an active member of Business Networks International (BNI) and the California Bar Association.  To relax I enjoy reading, playing golf and going to the movies.  My favorite TV shows are the Blacklist and Blue Bloods.
