Biography
I was born in Montgomery, Alabama and I have called Montgomery home my entire life. I attended and graduated from the University of Georgia. While attending Georgia I had the good fortune to play football and to call Vince Dooley my coach. After graduating from law school (Cumberland/Samford University) I was selected to serve as law clerk to the late Circuit Judge Joseph D. Phelps. I then went to work as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama. I later accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County. While serving as an ADA I successfully prosecuted many high profile criminal cases. In 1987 I entered the private practice of law and litigated hundreds of cases. In 1998 I mediated my first case and I decided to devote my entire practice to that of mediation. I have now mediated over 3000 cases throughout Alabama and surrounding states.
I have been married to Edith James since 1981. We have two children, Lauren and Will.
