Biography
Rehan Alimohammad was named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2019 - 2024, one of Houston's top lawyers by Houstonia Magazine for 2013-2018, and one of the 5 Most Outstanding Young Texans in 2011 by the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is the past Chairman of the Board for the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and a Past Chair of the Board for the State Bar of Texas. He was the first ever Asian and first ever Immigration Attorney to be elected Chair of the Board for the State Bar of Texas. He is a past 2 time Chair for the State Bar of Texas Committee on Laws Related to Immigration and Nationality. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Houston School of Law. Also a CPA, he served as a tax consultant for the International Tax Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers until 2003 when he entered the private practice of law. He is authorized to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas, the USCIS/DHS, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the IRS, and all Immigration Courts of the United States. He currently is a Professor in the University of Houston Law Center Immigration Clinic.
Mr. Alimohammad was brought up believing heavily in community service, and credits his Grandfather and Father for instilling that value at an early age. He is the Legal Counsel and Board member for the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Board member for the Katy Bar Association. From 2009-2012, he was the Legal Member for His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Southwestern United States. He has taken cases on behalf of the YMCA International Services, the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and Fort Bend Lawyers Care. For his efforts, he was recognized by the Pro Bono College of Texas for outstanding community service.
Already a CPA after receiving an Accounting Degree from the University of Texas in 1996, he went to University of Houston Law Center and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2001.
He enjoys helping people with a passion for litigating and this is the reason he practices immigration, tax law, and litigates in the area of family law. In his words, “There are many people who need legal help, I just try to do my part”.
