Biography
I started practicing in 2007. I am licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky.
At the age of 13, I attended a civil rights march to Music Hall on Martin Luther King, Junior Day with my Aunt Megan, who I have had the pleasure of practicing law with for my entire career. From that point, I had more than a passing interest in the civil rights of all people.
During my Junior year at Bowling Green State University, where I was majoring in English and History and minoring in Africana Studies, I considered careers as an English professor or an attorney. After interning for a summer at a Southwestern Ohio firm, I realized my passion for promoting and protecting the civil rights of all people and for providing people with access to justice through the legal process.
I focus my legal practice on Personal Injury Law, Negligence Law, Employer Intentional Torts, Employer Violations of Specific Safety Requirements and Products Liability, among other areas.
Each time I meet with a new client, I explain my approach that utilizes the expertise and experience I have gained from the practice as a whole and that pinpoints the right experts for each specific case. I tell my clients that I will do everything possible to make sure that they walk away from a trying experience with the best possible outcome for them. I am upfront and genuine in my approach to each case and will listen to my clients’ concerns and questions while clearly communicating the steps in the legal process that can lead to a successful outcome.
I reside near Cincinnati after growing up in Ross, Ohio.
I have served as a coach in the Northern Kentucky Youth Hockey Association. I actively served on the Butler County Advisory Board to the American Cancer Society and was active in the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network for years.
I am very involved with the Ohio State Bar Association for which I have served as Chairperson of the Insurance Law Committee and am currently serving as the Chairperson of the Negligence Law Committee. In 2010, I graduated from the OSBA’s inaugural Leadership Academy.
In 2012, I was inducted into the Miami Valley Trial Lawyers Association and have served as its Treasurer, Vice President, and President. I remain very active in that organization.
In the past, I have spent time on stage and behind the scenes in productions of the Greater Hamilton Civic Theater. I spend much of my spare time playing hockey and watching my favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings. I enjoy swinging the golf clubs in the warmer months, though most people stay as far away as possible. I also love to travel.
In 2011, I finished a project with the Ohio State Bar Foundation 2011 Fellows Class. The project is called O.P.E.N Court. It has produced a series of videos and supplemental materials that will be sent to courts and classrooms statewide to help prepare children with exceptional needs (autism and other developmental disabilities) for interactions with the juvenile court system. Summit County Juvenile Court and a few others have developed amazing programs to help children with exceptional needs in their court systems. With the help of representatives from that court as well as other experts on developmental disabilities throughout the state, videos and supplements were designed to be used more generally across the state.
