Biography
As an undergraduate at the University of Texas, Rick Berlin worked for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Texas. His experiences there gave him valuable insight into both civil and criminal federal practices ranging from securities fraud and asset forfeiture to federal tort liability.
In law school, Mr. Berlin was a member of the South Texas Law Review and an editor for the Texas Journal of Business Law. While a student at one of the nation’s premier litigation schools, he established himself as one of the top mock trial advocates in the country, winning honors in local, state and national competitions.
Rick Berlin is the Managing Attorney for the Houston Regional Office of the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Attorney General and has worked as an Assistant Attorney General since 2009. Mr. Berlin's practice involves filing lawsuits under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and Health & Safety Code to protect consumer rights. Mr. Berlin was named a Texas Rising Star by SuperLawyers in 2009 and recorded a Top 15 Texas verdict in 2011.
