I focus my practice on personal injury, criminal defense, and all types of civil litigation. I received my law degree in 1966 from the Colorado School of Law, and then clerked for U.S. Federal District Court Judge Hatfield Chilson.

I have practiced law for over 35 years, trying cases against the government in multiple areas of law - from defending nuclear testing protesters, to challenging laws relating to discrimination. I was one of the pioneers of the aggressive defense of drug laws.

Additionally, I have defended people accused of sexual assault, physical assault, driving under the influence, and other alcohol and drug related offenses.

I have represented numerous horse owners against personal injury litigation.

I have tried cases in numerous states in Federal and State Courts, including Texas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Nebraska.

I have been awarded multiple verdicts in excess of $1 million in civil cases.

I represent persons and companies charged with crimes. I also represent persons and companies who have been injured. If an individual or company has been sued or needs an attorney for some other reason I represent them.

I offer civil defense if insurance coverage is questioned, or if there is insufficient coverage. This includes working with insurance defense as "coverage counsel."

I am a advocate of the horse industry. Through my background with livestock and horses and my association with numerous horse professionals, from farriers through trainers, I have successfully defended stables, ranchers, and individuals in litigation involving injuries from horses and livestock.

I served as the president of the Boulder County Bar Association and Board of Directors of Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, and currently remains a member. I am also a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, Boulder County Bar, and American Bar Associations.
