Robert was born and raised in Madison County and is the eighth generation of the Jennings family to live and work here. His great-great-great-great-great-grandfather (also named Robert) first moved to Madison County in 1799.

For generations, public service has played a significant role in his family history: his father, Bill Jennings, was a judge in Madison County for thirty years; his grandfather, Bobby Jennings, was a well-known Richmond post office rural route carrier; and his great-grandfather, Jones “Doc” Jennings, was also a local post office employee.

Robert graduated with cum laude honors from Madison Central, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Robert: “Even as a child, I was interested in my family’s involvement in public service. It was my principle motivation for attending law school.

As an active attorney, I work daily with our local courts. I am keenly aware of the very real challenges facing our local legal system and community.

I roll up my sleeves and get to work for my clients."
