Roger was born and raised in Orange County, California. His family were originally from Mexico and recently became U.S. Citizens. Roger received his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in Akron, Ohio. While in law school, he clerked at a refugee resettlement organization assisting the local refugee population in obtaining their Lawful Permanent Residence and United States Citizenship. During law school, he also provided assistance to detained individuals in the Youngstown Detention Center and practiced at the Cleveland Immigration Court.

After Law School, Roger worked at an immigration firm in Tacoma, Washington. Roger provided group presentations at the Northwest Detention Center and covered a variety of Immigration defenses to both Spanish and English-speaking individuals. Roger also practiced at the Tacoma Immigration Court.

During his free time, Roger likes to hike, try new foods, and travel. He has visited multiple countries and loves immersing himself in different cultures. He is passionate about immigrant rights and is grateful that he can help make a difference in people’s lives.
