Biography

Since 2014, judges and other attorneys have recognized me as having the highest level of professional excellence for both legal ability and ethical standards and have rated me to be AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. Since 2016, I have also been selected to Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers. Only 5% of attorneys in Missouri and Kansas receive this distinction.

I understand this is probably the most difficult time of your life. You need an attorney who will work with you to effectively deal with the issues that are important to you. Too many attorneys make the resolution of cases more difficult and expensive than is necessary. i will always use an approach to maximize the result for you and minimize the expense. If the opposing party is unreasonable, I have extensive experience in representing clients in the courtroom.

I have resided in the Kansas City area since 1973. Prior to attending law school, I was the co-founder of an adoption agency and the general manager of a family-owned manufacturing company. I have personal experience in dealing with the impact of divorce. I live with my wife in Olathe, Kansas. We have a blended family of five adult children. I am active in community and church activities. In my spare time, I enjoy watching auto racing, KU basketball, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
