Russell T. Schundler, a member of the firm’s Corporate and Business Law section, concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions, bank financings and corporate finance.

He has represented businesses in a wide range of industries from formation through exit, including mergers and acquisitions, bank financings, contract negotiation, and formation and finance of start-up entities. He has also worked with private equity funds, venture capital funds and hedge funds with formation, offerings of interests to investors, and the review and negotiation of investments.

Rusty has been named one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine, a “Rising Star” by Law & Politics magazine and a Super Lawyer by Virginia Super Lawyers.

Russell also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Virginia, where he oversees The Transactional Law Clinic. Through a partnership with the University of Virginia School of Law, the Darden School of Business and its Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Batten Institute, Rusty works with law students in the clinic to provide free legal services to entrepreneurial ventures participating in the Darden Business Incubator.

Rusty graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Active in the community, he serves as a director for Jefferson Area CHIP, Inc., a director for the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council, and as a director for WorkSource Enterprises.
