Ryan is an American attorney at Lake Law Group, LLC and a sports consultant at Beyond the Playbook. He works extensively on ice hockey, soccer, baseball, basketball and Olympic movement issues. Ryan is also an Adjunct Professor at St. John’s University School of Law.

Ryan works on a variety of issues including player market analysis, contract negotiations, advanced statistics, salary arbitrations, operating and governing policies, SafeSport matters, athlete disputes and athlete selection procedures. Ryan also works closely with agents representing athletes in ice hockey, soccer, baseball, and basketball.

In the past, Ryan worked as the general counsel to the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Ryan also worked in the SafeSport and Legal departments at the United States Olympic Committee.
