Originally from Northern Minnesota, I have always committed myself to defending the rights of all Americans.  This began with joining United States Marine Corps Infantry and fighting in Afghanistan. Upon my return home, I began to put my experience to good use as I trained for a new battlefield, the courtroom.

After attending my hometown college, Bemidji State University, I came to Michigan to attend law school at Michigan State University College of Law. While at MSU Law, I was fortunate to participate in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute.  The two-year program trained me in the specific skills required for successful trial advocacy.  During that period, I also gained experience by clerking at several firms.  I used those opportunities to study various areas of the legal profession, honing my research and written advocacy skills.

Since my acceptance to the Michigan Bar Association in 2009, I have been defending the accused as a member of the Barone Defense Firm.  In my time with the BDF, I have represented hundreds of clients, filed countless motions, conducted extensive trials, and won impressive victories.  I have fought diligently to represent the best interests of my clients both in and out of court.  It is my goal to provide to my clients the type of representation I would want if placed in their shoes.  It is a point of pride to not only be knowledgeable, but available.  It does not do my clients any good if I know and understand what is going on and they do not.  

With the BDF, I also handle the driver's license restorations for the firm.  I have had the opportunity to help hundreds of clients safely return to the road.  With my representation, many who had been denied on multiple attempts have finally cleared their last hurdle and those making a first attempt have been spared precious years without driving.
