Sam graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he honed his skills as a judicial clerk in Federal and Illinois State Courts. Immediately after law school, Sam worked as a litigation associate on the largest Federal Torts Claim Act settlement for medical malpractice in Illinois history.

Sam earned his Bachelor's Degree as an economics major at Gordon College before serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Central Africa.
