Partner at Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, Scott Middleton chairs the highly respected Municipal Liability and Personal Injury groups. He handles all types of litigation, representing individuals and defending large and small businesses and municipalities in a wide array of matters including transportation (auto, commercial truck, school bus, and motor coach), personal injury, premises liability, labor law (construction accidents and employment issues), civil rights, wrongful death, road design, and general litigation matters.

As a founding partner and head of the firm’s Catastrophic Loss team, Scott maintains a particular focus on complex negligence cases. He represents construction and transportation companies in complex accident cases involving catastrophic injuries, insurance issues, and contractual disputes. Scott defended a major Long Island charter bus company in a litigation involving multiple plaintiffs and defendants stemming from a horrific accident on the Long Island Expressway that received nationwide news coverage. His work secured the dismissal of all claims against our client.

Scott has tried dozens of cases to verdict in state and federal court, including the defense of municipalities in civil rights cases involving allegations of excessive force, false arrest, and false imprisonment, as well as transportation and general liability cases. His roles as Trustee, Mayor and Village Justice, as well as Village Attorney/Prosecutor for the Incorporated Village of Lake Grove, place him in the unique position of being able to view cases from the standpoint of the public official.
