Scott DeLay is an associate attorney at The Cowan Law Firm. Scott’s practice is trial-focused, helping clients resolve disputes in the personal injury, family law, and business litigation arenas. As a Dalton native and former law clerk at the Conasauga Circuit Superior Courts (Whitfield and Murray Counties), Scott leverages his knowledge of the local community and legal system to achieve positive results for the firm’s clients.

Outside of work, you might find Scott chasing his toddler around Burr Performing Arts Park with his wife Avalee, hiking the North Georgia mountains with dogs Otis and Jolene, cheering on the Dawgs with Dalton’s UGA Alumni Association chapter, or volunteering with Believe Greater Dalton, Dalton Education Foundation, Keep Dalton-Whitfield Beautiful, and other local civic organizations.

Scott earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 2013 and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia’s School in Public and International Affairs in 2010. Scott has been licensed to practice law in Georgia since 2013.
