Biography
Mr. Scherr is a Towson attorney with 36 years of experience handling automobile accident, worker's compensation, DUI's, driving on a suspended license, MVA hearings, expungements, and criminal defense cases. For 35 years, Mr. Scherr has been a member of the J. Dudley Digges Inn of Court in Baltimore City, an organization where prominent lawyers and judges from all over the State of Maryland meet monthly to discuss issues in the practice of law. He was honored by that organization as Pupil of the Year in 1992-1993. He has also participated in mock appellate arguments, mock arbitrations, and numerous other presentations at the Inn. Mr. Scherr has also lectured on topics relating to handling personal injury cases at the Nuts and Bolts of Civil Practice in the District Court for Baltimore City seminar sponsored by the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Bar Association of Baltimore City. He has also written articles for the Maryland Association for Justice. Mr. Scherr has written several appellate amicus briefs on behalf of the Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association (now known as the Maryland Association for Justice). He receives referrals from many lawyers and has even represented many attorneys and their spouses in various matters.
Mr. Scherr grew up in Pikesville and still lives there today with his wife and two daughters who are now in college at the University of Maryland College Park and Washington College, respectively. He is active in his community and previously served as President of the Summit Chase Townhouse Association, Inc., his local homeowner’s association and was a member of the Board for 15 years. He also actively offers free legal advice at the Lawyer Referral Service through the Baltimore County Bar Association on a frequent basis and is very active in the Lawyergist and Justia communities volunteering his time to answer questions online. He has spoken to elementary school students on Career Day on a regular basis.
