Biography
It’s hard to believe this will be my 18th year practicing immigration law. Four different administrations have taken four different approaches to immigration in terms of how they view and treat family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, asylum, humanitarian benefits, and citizenship. I’ve had to adapt to different ways of advocating for my clients in all of these areas over the years. I’m proud to be a partner at Immigration Attorneys, LLP, where we zealously advocate for all clients, even when the odds seem stacked against us, or where other attorneys have been unsuccessful in getting benefits or relief.
Advocacy is a part of everything I do: advocating for immigration reform as well as agency accountability as a member of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association’s (AILA) National Media and Advocacy Committee, and current co-chair of the AILA Chicago Chapter’s Advocacy Committee; advocating for the advancement of civil and human rights as the past Chair of the Human Rights Section of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and current ex-officio of the ISBA’s Diversity Leadership Council; and seeking collaboration among lawyers from all backgrounds by participating on the planning committee for the Minority Bar CLE Conference.
