Biography
With over three decades of legal experience, Sheila Durant has built a career defined by leadership and service. She began as a litigator for the City of Baltimore, representing the city through five mayoral administrations. Sheila went on to serve as Senior Counsel to the Housing Authority of Baltimore City for 16 years, where she provided legal guidance to one of the largest housing authorities in the United States. Her public service also includes appointments as a Commissioner on Maryland’s Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and as an Equity Master for the Circuit Court of Wicomico County.
Sheila is a graduate of Morgan State University and the University of Baltimore School of Law. Her leadership extends to active roles in the American Bar Association, where she serves on multiple committees, as well as memberships in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Real Property Council of the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland. A Leon Higginbotham Fellow with the American Arbitration Association, Sheila combines her extensive legal knowledge with a commitment to excellence, offering clients unparalleled counsel and advocacy.
