Dr. Vepachedu has been an attorney in good standing since 1988, practicing Intellectual Property Law and Immigration Law.

Rao has extensive experience in research and teaching in the fields of biotechnology, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, combinatorial chemistry, nutrition, and biology. He has a PhD in organic chemistry (Best Research Fellow Award), MS in organic chemistry (Gold Medal and Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Award), BS in botany, zoology, and chemistry, JD in Law and LLM (Master of Laws, Intellectual Property). Rao chose the US over the UK for research, obtained permanent residency in the US under the category for individuals of extraordinary ability (EB1: ), and became an American citizen.
