Biography
Stacey Reese Law is an Austin, Texas based litigation boutique firm dedicated to providing competent and efficient legal representation in business, general civil, and water law litigation matters. After practicing with McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore, L.L.P., in Austin, Texas, for almost seven years, Stacey Reese left the “big firm” life and hung up her own shingle in order to provide her clients with the personalized representation most clients need to resolve their legal disputes efficiently.
Stacey has represented Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and individuals in a wide variety of legal disputes, both as plaintiffs and defendants in state court, federal court, administrative law proceedings, mediation, and arbitration. Stacey's legal representations have involved resolving disputes relating to employment, intellectual property, breach of contract, tortious interference, water, real estate, construction, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duties. Stacey also practices in the complex and rapidly evolving area of water law handling groundwater matters involving permitting issues and “takings claims” at the local and state levels including contested case hearings and administrative appeals. In addition to her own practice, Stacey is retained frequently by local firms as of counsel on complex litigation matters serving as a critical member of their trial team.
Stacey graduated from the nationally recognized University of Houston Law Center with honors in 2006 and has been an active member of the Austin Bar Association since graduation. Stacey is admitted to practice in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United State District Courts in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. Stacey serves on the Board of Directors of the Civil Litigation section of the Austin Bar Association.
Before becoming a lawyer, Stacey was a special education teacher in the Austin Independent School District and was an administrator of an all special education school in the Round Rock Independent School District. Stacey maintains her connection with education by serving on the executive board of the local, non-profit Odyssey School.
