I am Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  I received a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science from Texas A & M University in 1991. In 1994, I received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Baylor University’s School of Law.

I began practicing in 1994 as an insurance defense attorney with McLeod, Alexander, Powell & Apffel in Galveston. In 1996, I returned to my hometown of Lewisville to open my own practice. I have represented hundreds of Plaintiffs and Defendants in catastrophic and complex litigation matters.  I have tried numerous cases in Denton, Collin, Dallas, and Tarrant counties and I am certified mediator.

I am a current member of the Texas Bar Association, Denton Bar Association, and past president of the Denton County Trial Lawyers Association.  I am a past President of the Denton County A & M Club. I am also a former board member of Denton County Friends of the Family. I am currently a board member and 2004-2006 Chairman of the Board of the Court appointed Special Advocates.  Additionally, I have served an adjunct professor of Torts and Personal Injury Law at North Central Texas College.
