Steven E. Hughes graduated with Honors from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he was an active member of the Wisconsin Innocence Project, the Criminal Appeals Project, the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and the Pro Bono Society. While in law school, Steve also interned for the Public Defenders in Baraboo and for Judge Nicholas McNamara of Dane County’s Circuit Court. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Steve received an Honors degree in Political Science and a certificate in Criminal Justice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Steve was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but moved at an early age to New Berlin, Wisconsin where he graduated from Catholic Memorial High School with an International Baccalaureate diploma. Steve enjoys tennis and endurance racing in his free time. He has already completed three Ironman triathlons and nine marathons.

Steve is involved in a wide gamut of legal practice at Madden Vanderloop, S.C. and is also a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association.
