Biography
I help talented individuals pursuing O-1 visas, families building a life together, and businesses seeking to sponsor skilled foreign talent. My practice covers a wide range of services—from business visas to asylum, citizenship, family immigration, and removal defense—tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.
Specializing in O-1 and extraordinary ability visas, I work closely with professionals to highlight their talents in successful petitions, and I guide businesses through the complex sponsorship process, making it as seamless as possible. Having come to the U.S. as a young child, I personally understand the hopes and challenges of immigration. I advocate passionately for those facing persecution based on gender and sexual orientation, helping them find safety, and I assist families in keeping loved ones together, including helping parents with nanny visas.
My legal career began with criminal law advocacy for underprivileged youth and working on cases before the NSW Supreme Court in Sydney, Australia, and continuing in the U.S. with roles at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office and Nassau Legal Aid Society. I previously worked in two private immigration practices in New York. My 11 years of experience in immigration law, with my background in both removal defense and business immigration, allows me to offer a comprehensive analysis of each client’s immigration options to determine the most effective strategy for their case with empathy and insight.
I speak English, Bengali, and Spanish. I have guest lectured on immigration law at CUNY Law School, Hofstra University School of Law, Hunter College, and spoken on immigration panels for various community organizations. I am licensed to practice law in New York and immigration law in all 50 states. I hold a Bachelor’s in Anthropology from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law. I currently serve on the Beyond Barnard Advisory Council, and am a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
At Khalique Law PLLC, I offer more than just legal services; I strive to provide hope, opportunity, and a pathway to a brighter future. Whether you’re an individual, a family, or a business, I am here to make your immigration journey smoother, more informed, and more successful every step of the way.
