Sunjeev represents clients in the electronics and energy industries. His current clients develop technologies as diverse as lighting control systems, nuclear reactors, and battery energy storage systems.

Sunjeev focuses his practice on IP counseling, prosecution, litigation, and transactions. With a hybrid of experience, Sunjeev is uniquely positioned to counsel his clients on how to build strong patent and trademark portfolios and prosecute patent applications with an eye toward enforcement.

His expertise includes counseling for IP protection, enforcement, litigation, licensing, and commercialization strategies.

● Preparing enforceable license agreements, trade secret policies, open source software policies, and other IP related agreements that are easily understood by technical staff.
● Minimizing IP risk by counseling on freedom to operate, open source software compliance, trademark clearance, and the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
● Launching new products and adding new features to existing products by providing patent clearances, as well as opinions of counsel on non-infringement and invalidity issues.

Sunjeev is a former vice chair of the U.S. Patent Office Practice Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association. He has published many articles in IP Law360 and is often quoted in IP Law360 on hot IP topics. He was previously named a Rising Star in Washington D.C. for Intellectual Property Law and Litigation (2015-2019) by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Outside of the office, Sunjeev is active in Arlington Little League and serves on the Board of Directors. He has enjoyed being a youth baseball coach since 2017 and has previously served as commissioner.

Before his legal career, Sunjeev gained practical computer industry experience by working at CACI as an engineer, where he wrote software in the Java and Perl programming languages.  During his undergraduate and graduate years, Sunjeev was a teaching assistant for a software engineering course in compiler construction.
