I am a partner with the Dedham, Massachusetts law firm of Samuel, Sayward & Baler LLC where I concentrate my practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, and elder law. I am certified as an Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation, a private organization whose standards for certification are not regulated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

I help my clients create a plan to take care of their families. This includes planning

• to reduce taxes so that more of their estate passes to their children and grandchildren
• to protect their children’s inheritance from the reach of creditors, and,
• to protect assets from having to be spent down on long-term care costs.

I also assist clients in settling estates after the death of a family member, administering trusts and preparation of estate tax returns.

I served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys between 2010 and 2017 and as president of that organization in 2013.

I also served on Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys for many years and as the Chapter’s President in 2009. I have been named to Boston Magazine’s annual list of “Massachusetts Super Lawyers” for the years 2010 through 2019.
