Tom has significant experience with very serious cases such as homicide, sex offenses, drug cases, and three-strikes cases. His jury trial experience far exceeds that of most lawyers in our community.

Tom has had a number of successful jury verdicts on serious charges, including homicide, rape, felony drugs (in federal court) and a third strike charge. He has also successfully tried numerous DUI cases. He has a powerful reputation with the prosecutors and can negotiate a favorable plea bargain if you do not want to go to trial.

While Tom has focused much of his legal career litigating criminal cases, he has also built a strong reputation in Bellingham for his work on personal injury claims. Tom enjoys helping personal injury clients recover financially from medical bills, lost wages, and property damage that result from accidents of all types including car, bicycle, pedestrian, and motorcycle accidents.

Tom is a graduate of Western Washington University and Gonzaga University School of Law. He is a past President of the Whatcom County Bar Association, a member of the Federal Bar Association, and the Washington State Bar Association. He is an avid cyclist and skier.
