In legal practice since 1996, Virginia Ann Jacobson has sought to provide caring and effective assistance and representation to a wide range of clients in need of legal counsel. Coming from central New York originally, after attending Cornell University and then State Univ. of New York at Buffalo School of Law, Ms. Jacobson made Prescott, Arizona her home. After five years as a passionate and hard working deputy public defender, Ms. Jacobson continues to provide consultation, self-help and representation to clients in areas of family law, child custody and divorce, guardianship and conservatorship, select criminal cases and general civil practice areas. Ms. Jacobson has also been active as a Volunteer and Board Member with local non-profit People Who Care (serving as board president in 2010-2011, board vice president 2011-2013) and as a member of PEAC (Prevention of Elder Abuse Coalition) through 2016.   She continues as an active volunteer, fundraiser and supporter of People Who Care to this day,and urges anyone interested in contributing to their community to consider volunteering or supporting People Who Care! Ms. Jacobson is also trained and interested in mediation, grant writing and advocacy.  Lastly, she was an adjunct professor at Yavapai College for several years, teaching the Criminal Law and Procedure and the Civil Tort Litigation courses in the Paralegal program.
