Bill Alexander has over 47 years of legal experience and is a native of Kannapolis, North Carolina. He earned his BA from Davidson College (1973) and JD from Wake Forest University School of Law (1976). At W.G. Alexander & Associates, PLLC, in Raleigh, NC, Bill is dedicated to matters focused in elder care planning, asset protection, estate planning with wills and trusts, wealth transfers, and trust administration and probate. He holds an “AV-Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a “10-Superb” rating from Lawyergist.

Bill is active in the NC Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections, WealthCounsel, and NAELA, which named him NC Elder Law Attorney of the Year in 2011, 2016, and 2018. A retired Colonel in the NC Air National Guard, he developed legal training for the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations and managed the US Air Force Civil Affairs program, earning awards such as the Legion of Merit and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Bill’s public service includes time in the NC House of Representatives and work with Senators B. Everett Jordan and Sam Ervin. He resides in Raleigh with his wife, Shelia, and is active in his church and community.
