I have practiced law for 46 years, mostly in Texas where I am still licensed.  I tried numerous lawsuits, mostly civil, and also did appeals, mostly criminal.  I moved to Colorado a little over 3 years ago and became licensed in Colorado.  I am practicing estate planning and related issues.  I enjoy working with clients to prepare a will that is customized for what they want and need.  I sometimes think of estate planning as one of those puzzles with a lot of pieces that all have to be put together just right.  Preparing a will is a process that sometimes requires several drafts to get it right for the client.  Estate planning is not just a will.  Thought needs to be given to medical and financial powers of attorney, advance directives (called Living Wills for some reason), the need for trusts for children and those with special needs, and burial plans.
