Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia Mr. Stanton Graduated Summa Cum Laude with highest honors from the University of Richmond’s prestigious Jepson School of Leadership Studies, where he graduated second in his class with a GPA of 3.85. He then went on to seek his J.D. from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law as a John Marshall Scholar (the law school’s most prestigious scholarship program, limited to 8% of the incoming class).

During his time in law school, Mr. Stanton earned a number of academic achievements,
including membership in the McNeil Law Society, an honor reserved for law students ranked in the top 10% of their class), was Order of the Coif, on the Law Review, and won awards for Advanced Trial Practice. Following Law School, Mr. Stanton served the Commonwealth of Virginia as an aggressive criminal prosecutor where he prosecuted multi-million dollar regulatory cases as well as serious violent crimes such as murder, arson, abduction, domestic violence, malicious wounding, and DUI’s, but also handled lighter cases including traffic.

For more than a decade, the government trusted Mr. Stanton to prosecute criminal and regulatory violations on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
