The University at Buffalo School of Law is one of the most respected public law schools in America and a center of excellence for interdisciplinary research. The University at Buffalo School of Law, which is the only law school within the State University of New York System, is located on the main campus of a research-intensive public university that is the largest in the Northeastern United States. The inaugural issue of the Law Review was published by a group composed of law students, under the direction of Professor Charles W. Webster. The 350-page issue had an initial print run of 100 copies. It did not have any subscribers. Charles S. Desmond, then Associate Judge at the New York Court of Appeals, wrote the lead article in Volume 1. He would become the Chief Judge of New York’s highest court.
