SMU School of Law was founded in February 1925. In celebration of its 75th anniversary, SMU School of Law was renamed Dedman School of Law to honor Dallas benefactors Nancy Dedman, Sr. and their families. SMU Dedman School of Law boasts more than 17,000 alumni. It has an international and national reputation for training top lawyers in law and business. Jason P. Nance is the Dean of the law school and Judge James Noel Dean. He is also a Professor of Law.
