What Are Insurance Lawyer’s Main Duties?
Before 1944, the law did not treat insurance as commerce and it did not come under state or Federal regulation. However, a couple of major decisions, including United States v. Because of acts passed by Congress, South-Eastern Underwriters Association gave states authority to control and manage insurance businesses. Most federal laws are overridden by state insurance laws, however, some federal statutes such as those related to taxes, are always required. Laws made by each state set the rules for insurance and laws by the federal government handle secondary concerns such as labor, taxes, securities, etc. An Insurance lawyer deals with both federal laws and state laws that cover insurance and its adjacent services.
