My wife went into a store the prior day. The following day I went into the store and the cashier approached me demanding money for items stolen by my wife the day before or she was calling the police. I paid the amount she said the items were worth. The next day I contact corporate and they start an investigation. When investigation was completed it was determined they made a mistake and there was no theft that has occurred. The cashier admitted she was wrong and she made a mistake. Now they refuse to return my money even when corporate said I would get it back. Now it's all over town that I had stolen from the store. It's very humiliating and embarrassing to go out in public now.

My neighbors have been troubling me by stalking and harassing me for several months, and their actions have been particularly worse this month. They have defamed me by blaming me for something I never did; they have subjected me to a lot of emotional trauma. I have reported the incidents to the police; my mother was there to witness them. I got a TPO against one of the neighbors and reported to the police of the physical altercation. Per this respect, the police have not taken further action. How can I protect myself and counter false allegations?
