On 2-8-21, I applied for short-term disability as my dr. put me on an FMLA due to severe anxiety, insomnia and adjustment disorder. My disability insurance co. has been supplied with all the paperwork I provided. Unum requests information every 5 days. They have already been given all my medical records by the 2 doctors who saw me concerning this plus a statement by my attending physician saying that I cannot safely conduct my job at this time. Today they called in a request AGAIN for records with the doctorr they had already had all my records and had obtained over 3 weeks ago. Whenever they come up with a new request, they have 5 more days to decide. I really believe they are simply attempting to justify a denial of my claim. I don't know what else to do. I am so frustrated. I researched their company and discovered that they had been sued previously to cover this very game that they are now playing against me at my cost. Unless they grant my claim and begin to send me checks I will soon be sinking financially. This is not what I have been paying them to cover me in case I am temporarily disabled, is it? Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance!
