How can a minor in the state of Texas seek emancipation with family related problems?
I am a 16-year old- year girl, I am currently residing with my grand mother in Alabama after CPS took me from my mother’s home in Texas, due to domestic violence and unhealthy living conditions. I work as a part time and am a student thus am not in a position to fully support myself financially. I want to gain my independence and be with my aunt in Virginia, she said she will aid me with the expenses. Most family members are not privy to my plans, and since my grandmother is a part of the family, I cannot tell her about them. What must I do in order to be emancipated in Texas?
