Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, Campbell University

Campbell Law School is a unique community made up of diverse people who are united by one purpose: to use the law to make society more just and merciful. The goal is to produce compassionate lawyers that are ready for the real world. Norman Adrian Wiggins (third president of Campbell University) began to discuss his vision for a small private law school that would produce lawyers with moral convictions, compassion, and competence in the 1970s. President Wiggins traveled across North Carolina to raise funds and attract outstanding legal educators and lawyers to the new venture. With hard work, patience, and outstanding leadership, his vision became a reality in August 1976 when a charter class made up of 97 students opened Campbell Law School. To honor his leadership and pioneering efforts, the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law was renamed by the Board of Trustees in 1988.
