The UNC School of Law was established in 1845. It is part of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, which is the first state-funded university in the country. Since 1928, the American Bar Association has approved the school. Carolina Law trains outstanding leaders and lawyers to serve the citizens and institutions of North Carolina and around the globe. The school is home to many centers and initiatives and has strong expertise in civil rights and banking, environmental, and intellectual property law. It also offers critical studies, bankruptcy, and constitutional inquiry.
